Goodbyeeeee IIT-Kanpur

“Tell me and I'll forget. Show me, and I may not understand. Involve me, and I'll always remember.”

Yes, I will always remember, the time that I had spent, the gurus that I had made, the lectures that I had attended, the friendship that had blossomed and the crushes that I had, at this premier research institute of India i.e. IIT-Kanpur. Almost everything attached to this place is worth remembering. Right from our “informal” introduction period to our tender farewell, I had enjoyed every bit of time that I had spent. Four years of stay @ iitk was a period, with many global maxima in the graph of my life i.e. maximum fun, maximum learning, maximum time pass, maximum movies, maximum songs and also maximum fraud (I am sure for that). All the success that I take back from here will glow my life forever and all the failure that I take from here will strengthen me from inside.
Before getting into this system, I had a picture in my mind of how my college life would be. I thought that college environment would be like; we will be bunking lecture for movies. Every show would be first day first show; we will be roaming around in the city every night, partying with friends, looking at the hot chicks passing some non-serious comments; enjoying to the fullest. But story turned out to be a bit different although we did enjoyed, the ambiance was much different than what I had imagined. But whatever it be the life was much better then my dream. Living amidst best facilities and care with no worldly tension (off course I mean apart from academic).
For me life at IIT-K was full of challenges. I found that after every task there was yet another task waiting for me to be accomplished. I worked harder and harder to accomplish them. I think in this spirit the span of four years turned out to be too short for me to fully enjoy the beauty of this place. After four years of continuous struggle in this system now I believe that,

“In the game of life it's a good idea to have a few early losses, which relieves you of the pressure of trying to maintain an undefeated season.”
And I think exactly this is what the system has done to us. Perhaps the most valuable outcome of our education is our ability to make ourselves do the thing we have to do, when it ought to be done, whether we like it or not. Nothing in this education system is so astonishing as the amount of ignorance it accumulates in the form of inert facts. It has left us with mere awareness of facts and proved to us that we are not masters in the world. There is still a lot to learn and understand. The greatest gift that I have received from this institute is belief that: “NEVER UNDERESTIMATE YOUR ABILITY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE”

And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count, it’s the life in your years.

And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count, it's the life in your years.

I am Fucking High...

High after my recent trip to San Antonio, Texas, I am fucking high...
It was really a good experience for me, to attend an international conference. The conference has given a real boost to my decision of joining TATA Motors Pune. Deep inside my heart I was not at all willing to act like what others have been doing so far and believed that it was the best thing for someone having a good D.R (departmental Rank) i.e. writing GRE and going to some fucking University in U.S and enjoying the privilege of studying there. To me, its acting like a dumb sheep. I don't know but I feel somewhere in my heart that Tata Motors can provide me a lot more opportunity then any thing else. I don't know how far its true but I feel good when I think it. What I think is that this years budget has shown signs for reduction in car taxes which has been responsible for the high prices of cars in India. After this reduction the prices are bound to come down and there will be a boost in the car market in India and soon Tata Motors will appreciate if its engineers act more competitively and increase their production. And here lies an opportunity for all start up entrepreneur exhibit your talent and progress in Indias Best Automotive Company. Its really a Great feeling for me to work for some Indian company. The whole "Brain Drain" thing is really something that India must worry about. It may have to repent for it in near future and I am sure of that thing cause INDIAN market is an EMERGING ONE. I would really like to pursue my career chain with TATAs. Hope I'll appreciate my decision of joining TATA Motors Pune down the line.
  • P:S:: I would really Urge my IITian Friends to unite to do something against Brain Drain form India.

Happy Valentine's Day (from my G/F)

    To My Sweet Heart

To be in Love makes you
feel that each and every thing
in this universe is in luv,
trees are thirsty for the love
of the sky, they raises themself
high in the hope that soon
they will turn wet from dry
Each wave in the sea flows
in order to touch the sea shore,
just its little touch tranquils her so much
that she refuses to go away from him,
and so she comes again and again
and sea shore allows her every time
to take some part of him
    I dont know what people
mean by love or is there any
    definition of love but,
one thing i know is that
    when your eyes hold me
when your steady lips say an essay
when your smile makes me happy
when your caring nature brings green tears
    YES ! this is love
This is love which you have brought
in mylife: a reason to smile.
I am really lucky to have a
person like you in MY LIFE..
    Happy Valentine's Day

Book Review: Mediocre But Arrogant (M.B.A)

Mediocre But Arrogant, by Abhijit Badhuri, in itself is a kind of book which can soon develope an interest into reading, of a young mind. The book has in it, all the spices, which would make a college guy like me, enjoy it. Throught out the book, author has talked about the life of this guy called Abbey who considers his getting into a premier management college just an act of serendipity. He is, basically an unambitious kind of guy who takes life with ease. He has no different, then a typical guyish kind of a character, running after ever hot chik in the college, dominating and self centered. Given above traits its needless to mention that it was difficult for him to maintain releations in life. Writing style of author has been as if you are actually listening to the conversation. It is well reflected in the way he writes dialougs of bongs with a flovour of indian accent in it. The book shows how the central character develops his relations with three different kinds of girl and how does he keeps switching from one to another as per the situation in which he is.
Inspite of the fact that our central character is loose in maintaining in his relationships, I found my self pleading to author, before reaching to second last page, for a happy ending.

I have found the story very interesting because i could easily relate myself to most of the things in the book like a typical hostel life, having a common group language in the college, same placement scenerio, similar professors, same old thing of writing a term paper, and I think most of us (Like we in I.I.T and Abbey in M.I.J) would have a similar life style.

I wish to write more but http://iamalluring.blogspot.com to company him to the canteen. Ne ways hope you too enjoy reading the book

    cheers

    this time not my "Self"

    Why ablution-is-the-need...?

Vipul some of your friends have asked you why ablution-is-the-need .....?
i will take my freedom to answer this question hope you wont deny to your "Self"

The word ablution find its origin from a latin word abluere which means to wash away.

Basically it means the washing of one's body part or part of it (as in a religious rite)

    Ablution was practised
(1.) When a person was initiated into a higher state.
(2.) Before the priests approached the altar of God, they were required,on pain of death, to wash their hands and their feet to cleanse them from the soil of common life.
(3.) There were washings prescribed for the purpose of cleansing from positive defilement contracted by particular acts.
(4.) A fourth class of ablutions is mentioned, by which a person purified or absolved himself from the guilt of some particular act.
For example, the elders of the nearest village where some murder was committed were required, when the murderer was unknown, to wash their hands over the expiatory heifer which was beheaded, and in doing so to say, "Our hands have not shed this blood, neither have our eyes seen it" . So also Pilate declared himself innocentof the blood of Jesus by washing his hands. This act of Pilate may not, however, have been borrowed from the custom of the Jews. The same practice was common among the Greeks and Romans. The Pharisees carried the practice of ablution to great excess, thereby claiming extraordinary purity .The Pharisees washed their hands "oft," more correctly, "with the fist" , or as an oldfather, Theophylact, explains it, "up to the elbow."

Through this Blog Vipul takes an initiative to clean his soul from the gulits and Sins before he initiate into a higher state by making a confession about it. He thinks that, this is what every one on this earth is in need of, an ablution, therefore the "ablution-is-the-need" .
